giveaway at southern hospitality
A blog that I have been reading for awhile has got a great giveaway for a silhoutte vinyl cutter.
This is a cutter I have been researching because you can use the fonts on your computer and do not need to buy cartridges. You can also download different projects from their website.
Here is the link for the giveaway

garden
be sure to check out the square foot gardening page, it has some great pictures. look on the left side of page to see the link
Blue table

here is the picture of the table finished in blue (see previous post to see what it looked like when I brought it). What do you think, do you like the blue. The chair is from Pier One, brought two of them last year on clearance, really like them on the deck, and they are really comfortable. And that is some strawberry, orange lemonaid that taste so so good. Here is the view from this chair across the deck to the dock on the wateralso have been working on some lamps that I brought at goodwill and garage sales. I found these two matching crystal lamps at goodwill for 7.99 each, thought that was a great price, I am working on painting them white and finding shades for them. . Keep in touch for the final pictures. the floor lamp was a find at a garage sale for 1.50(yes thats right 1.50) i forgot to get a before picture, but it was that brassy gold color, i painted it white spray paint, then hand painted the purple and green, it is for the guest room. still have some work to do on the shade. Do you think it needs more painting done to the base, i'm still undecided, thought i would live with it for awhile and see. the last lamp is also for the guest room, got it at goodwill ( I do shop there alot) painted white, added flowers to the inside, and added trim and beads to a shade from (again) goodwill. I think i will do the shade for the floor lamp with the same trim.

i got this cabinet at goodwill for 9.99, it has a glass front door, that i already took off to prime it for painting. these cabinets were used for stereo equipment before i-pod became the norm. I needed something to put the box for my tv dish and my dvd player in since we put the tv over the fireplace, its hard to find a cabinet that isn't short and wide, i needed one that fit a certain spot.
this is a little table i found out at trade days, at first i thought i would use it for a magazine rack but now i think i am going to use it on the deck for a table. i
am thinking of spraying it an aqua blue and using it with the two green wicker chairs, i can just see it with a glass of lemonaide on it. i'll post a picture when it is done.
new day

well, i'm back, lets see if it lasts.
i have been collecting glasswear for awhile to make into cake plates, apothecary jars, and whatever
and other treasures i have found between canton first monday, larrys trade days, and goodwill and other thrift stores. I like taking something old and making it into something else. i found many of these ideas all over the web, its really amazing all the creativity that is in the world. its fun to see what different people do with things that other people don't want anymore. i guess i've gotten old because everything from my childhood is now 'vintage and antique'.
